The experts at CMHO Consulting have spent more than 30 years observing traffic flows and traffic patterns in several states to determine exactly what it is that causes traffic congestion on highways. We have determined that the same factors contribute to the congestion over and over again.

 

We have spent years testing a variety of techniques to reduce congestion and to speed up traffic. In almost all cases, the same few techniques are overwhelmingly the most successful in reducing congestion in the shortest period of time. 

 

CMHO Consulting, LLC,  was formed as a new company in 2014 specifically to help the Colorado DOT (CDOT) reduce congestion on the highways around Denver. Unfortunately, at that time, CDOT chose to build new toll lanes to benefit a handful of wealthier individuals instead of reducing congestion for everyone in free lanes. As a result, hundreds of thousands of commuters now sit in stop-and-go traffic every single day on highways around Denver.

The congestion around a city as small as Denver could be dramatically reduced in a matter of weeks at very low cost. The toll lanes cost hundreds of millions of dollars each, and they have done nothing to reduce congestion for 97% of the population.

 

CMHO Consulting is prepared to help the elected officials and/or the state DOT of any state that actually wants to reduce congestion on highways for everyone, not just a handful of the population. We use simple highway management techniques that cost a tiny fraction of what new construction would cost.
